I know that we cop it for promoting our site up here but recently we got bored of going to the gym so we made some high quality floodlights and went night bouldering It was a heap of fun so we thought that it was valid climbing cross promotion / information to share it with you One of the better photos is here http://www.climbingaustralia.com.au/photo/queen-s-park-night-bouldering-25?context=latest We got about 60 minutes of discontinuous light from the rechargeable spotlights, the gear was pretty cheap (about £50 for two lights) and the results, from a photographic point of view were excellent There are some photos of the gear here: http://www.climbingaustralia.com.au/photo/albums/diy-night-bouldering-gear There is also a blog on our climbing site about getting the best out of night bouldering but we won't post an address, you can stumble about and find it for yourself! I know that we are blessed with great weather down here and the prospect of night bouldering on a damp November night is pretty unappealing but hopefully you get where we are coming from!! Incidentally, running couple of lights (the car spotlights come in pairs) means a good spread of light and really improves the photos Adding a halogen head torch to the set up helps with preserving the big light batteries on the walk in and helps out when some holds fall into shadow All the best!!
