Coming from Canada to climb at Lone Pine, New Jack City, should I rent a 4x4 or will a standard rental car get me in safely to these two places without much worry.
thanks

standard sedan works for both. the bigger issue is why you're coming from canada to climb at alabama hills and new jack city.

Yeah. Those are fun places, but with Owens and Red Rocks in that general area, you might rethink those choices. I'm just saying...

You could get a Ferrari into New Jack these days. Don't know about Lone Pine.

Thanks for the answers. Always interested in a different place to climb, with different backgrounds(Mt.Whitney is time!)motels, people etc. I have climbed at Owens before, and I find the climbing great sure, but the canyon is a pass for me, sorry to offend, but it is really not that pretty, to me. And we are going to be in that general area anyway for other things.
thanks guys.

You don't like Owens 'cause it isn't pretty? Good luck with New Jack.

Seriously!

I've enjoyed climbing at NJC, and I'm really itching to get back there in a couple of weeks. But you don't go for the scenic beauty. It doesn't have much of that.
