Palin will throw her hat in the ring at the last possible moment.
I think her strategy is to wait as long as possible, so she doesn't have to debate anyone and/or actually say something this early on, and end up looking even more stupid that Michelle. She can let the others tear each other apart, and she stays out of the fray, directly... Just keeping herself in the limelight, and taking shots at her opponents from the sidelines.
If you think about it... It IS her best shot. The sheep will be confident they know her, from watching her on TLC and agreeing with her quips 'after the fact', even if the are wrong, just like Michelle.
Edit... And none of this is her idea, of course, as she is too full of herself to be able to recognize this. It is her handlers that have been able to persuade her that this is the best strategy for her.
