hey guys! I was wondering if this was a good harness to get? im tryin to buy one and don't know what im looking for really.... also.... what size should i be looking for if i have a 35 inch waist and 19 inch thigh?

Depends on what you are going to use it for. The alpine bod is a specialised harness for alpine use, so most probably you should look for some other harness more suitable for general rock climbing. I suggest you visit a real rock climbing store and let the staff help you find something that fits you.

Probably not your best bet.
It would work in the sense that it will catch you if you fall, but it is designed with low bulk and low weight prioritized above comfort. A little more money will get you a harness that is a lot more appropriate for a beginner. There are doubtless lots of threads here discussing such options, but it really boils down to what's safe and comfortable for you.

The only thing I would suggest is one that DOES NOT have speed buckles. If you're just beginning in climbing, you need to learn the basics without short cuts. This includes: doubling back harness buckles, belaying with an ATC and not an assist device and using screw lock biners as opposed to the ones that lock automatically when you let go of the gate device. Why are these things important you may ask. They are important to get you in good habits of belaying with a constant brake hand on the brake strand, checking for backups and making sure every component of your system is set up correctly and safe. When things get done automatically, it breeds complacency. Complacency invariably leads to injury in this sport sooner or later. Good luck finding a harness.

My recommendation would be to go to an REI, MSR or similar store where you can try them on and hang in the harnesses. If you really want to get the right one, you need to spend some time dropping into it, swinging on it a bit to make sure that is fits and lands where you want it to.
Every body is unique and what will be comfortable and usable for one, may not work for you.

described as a very basic no-frills harness.
go to the store to try one on. otherwise, order from somebody who has a friendly return policy.

It is an ok harness. That was my first harness, it work but its really uncomfortable and it functionality is pretty limited.
35 in waist with a 19 inch thighs…are you sure that you are not measuring around your hips? Find a gear store and try on a bunch of harness. Most will have a rope set up so you can hang in them and see if the fit is correct. You should have several inches ( 3" I think) of tail in the webbing when the snugged up

I have the Black Diamond Momentum, and love it. I would, as the other posters said, go to a climbing store or REI to help you with size.
