Are dogs allowed at and around the Big Chief area? Any camping tips? We're planning on going there today for the weekend.

There was a dog there last time I was up there, and a group of guys were camping at the trail head/parking lot. I'm not sure if need permits as I've never camped there myself. Guessing you could probably hike half way in and find some nicer places to commando camp as the parking lot sees a fair amount of traffic in the morning, especially on the weekends. Not sure if these things are 'officially' allowed, but nobody seems to mind. I certainly don't. Have fun...
