It looks like I am going to be heading to Spain for three weeks in a couple of days. The trip was kind of rushed so I dident have time to order a guidebook. Does anyone know of some shops in Madrid that may carry whatever is the top guidebook(s) for Spain?

Also, where can I find the warmest sport climbing? A quick look shows that its suppose to be in the low 50's in Madrid for the month, a bit cold IMO.

Spains a big country with a hell of a lot of rock! There are probably hundreds of guide books and you really do have to pick an area, and then localise a bit before you get a guide.
Madrid is in the middle and high up so cold in winter, the warmest will be around Malaga and the Costa Blanca, both have the advantage there are English language guides since these are the sun rock destinations for the wet and cold Brits. Have a look at the Rockfax list and pick your poison! http://www.rockfax.com/tagged/spain/

Well I will start with Costa Blanca as that seems to be the spot. So next I just need to find a shop in Madrid that sells a guidebook for the place. I have been searching Google for outdoor retailers for hours and nothing. Its like there isint a single place in Spain that sells climbing gear. I guess maybe if I was searching in Spanish that might help. :/

Barrabes in central Madrid has a huge selection of guidebooks, and there is a gear shop just a few doors down on the same street.

Thanks. I ended up finding a guidebook at the Orange House. I must say, if you dont speak Spanish, get a book before coming to Spain, it was a real PIA to find a book, we ended up wasting two days.
