Hello Everyone, Might anyone be able to suggest top approachable climbs with a rating of 5.6 - 5.9 with either bolts or natural anchors at the top of the routes near Sedona, AZ? An ideal location would allow the setup of two to three top rope climbs with ratings from 5.6 to 5.9 to allow myself and my friends to setup each route, climb as desired throughout the day, and tear down just before getting worn out. Currently, the trip is planned for Thanksgiving weekend. Thanks! - Tcfxaox

reach out to sonso45, he knows the area well. Not sure there is any climbing in that range in Sedona.

Perfect - will do. The climbs dont have to be 'in' sedona - but within a 45 minute - 1 hour drive would be preferred since we'll be staying at a hotel in Sedona.

Manny, I actually have the exact same question as TCFXAOX, I'm going to be in Sedona for the week before Thanksgiving and would like to get a day or 2 of toproping in. Anything from 5.6 - 5.9. I dont have any trad gear, so mainly need natural or bolted anchors. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Bobby

Hi Bobby, Oak Creek Overlook is a few scenic minutes drive up the canyon on hwy 89 to Flagstaff. At the top of the canyon the Scenic Vista has parking for tourists and next to it is the cliff top. Full of trees for anchors (be gentle with the trees please) above moderate routes, it's right up your alley. Marty Karabin has a nice foldout guide. Not sure if it is available in Sedona though. Phoenix shops have it.

Manny, Thanks for the quick reply! That seems like a good place for what we are looking for, we are coming from SD, so maybe we'll find a shop to get the good topo on the way over. Thanks again! Bobby

Marty Karabin's Overlook foldout guide is available in Sedona at Canyon Outfitters in Sedona. It will get you all the info you need. Have fun!
