Hear ye, hear ye... my son made his way into the world the other day. Two days before he was born, I FA-ed a new route at Summersville Lake—a balancy, facey 10b sport climb on impeccable, bullet stone called Imminent Lincoln. Someday, I'll take him out there, and he'll rope gun it for me. That'll be one helluva day. Lincoln Marshall Young...

He loves going to the gym. Watch the various outlets for climbing shoes. Campmor had a sale for $20 a pair several years ago. The catch was only selected sizes. Which turned out to be only tiny womans sizes. Which turned out to be perfect for my younger boy at the time. They were orange color so he was ok wearing them. Mountain Gear and REI are worth watching too.
