Not actually a hurricane, but still the best named storm evar. Actually the wind in Edinburgh wasn't that bad, but I did get an extension on all my hand ins since they closed all the university buildings just in case they picked up. ^.^

It's meant to be much worse on the west coast, though.

Here is a crazy pic from the BBC page of a wind turbine overloaded by the wind:

The top speed clocked was 165mph on the summit of Cairngorm.

There is pretty widespread flooding, which is a problem.

I was going to ask my parents how the weather up in Kinlochleven was (probably pretty epic), but the power, phones, and mobile service for a couple of carriers (including theirs) are all down. But all hints point to good ice conditions with redonkulous windslab.

Hilarious video to finish. I love the sudden WTF moment.

Great picture on the turbine. It must not have had it's vanes rotated and the brakes locked or something.

Never seen a coal plant get blown over by the wind. What is so great about green energy anyway?

Saw the news about the weather headed your way. Hope all is well. The pic is amazing. Looks like its locks got overloaded and turned around by the wind.
