Top anchors are now installed at 'Any Major Dude', with chains added for lowering, and the pitons have been replaced with excellent bolting. There are also top anchors for 'Honeypot/Every Major Dudette', and a third hanger there makes TR anchors for 'Minor Dude' to the right of 'Any Major Dude'. See more at http://www.ClimbPilotNC.us.

The park superintendent wants bolted anchors everywhere trees have been used, except where he does not want climbers going. There may also be some rebolting. Updates on progress will be posted here.

There are two sets of rim anchors atop the buttress beside Big Arete, with chains to allow Trad clip-in and rappel for leading 'Bet Ya Can't Eat Just One' and 'Hunger Strike'.

There are three bolted anchors for 'Buzzard Breath' to allow two lines, one on the main face, and one with a finish to the left from the left side of the face.

Note that there are chains added to existing anchors for 'Pee Break', 'Grandpa's Belay', and 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrel' to serve Trad leading, which is finally becoming more popular at Pilot. They also shorten top-rope gear needed and avoid the abrasion over the main edge. If they are confusing to you, please set them aside nicely.

Bill Webster has continued with top-rope anchors at 'Cowboys and Heroes', and finished all new face bolts for 'Bat out of Hell' and 'Foreign Trade Zone' next to it.

Somewhat after the model of John Black, Bill Webster was at Pilot on July 4th for more new anchors. 'Herculean Test' has new ring anchors that are level this time. 'Ethics in Bondage' next to it now has new ring anchors finishing the line, with the old chains to be replaced later with a bolt. And 'Mr. Henar' has new ring anchors above the old chains which were removed and replaced with a new bolt; and the gray sling has been replaced by Fixe anchor chains offered by Alberto. Bill will continue with 'Henar' and others later.

If you have comments or requests, and do not have Bill's email, a p.m. to me will be forwarded.

The top two face bolts on the upper part of 'When Shrimp Learn to Whistle' are new. The one under the roof will still need a long sling, but will be visible on the way up and easier to clip on the front of that block. The rope line will be better over to the last bolt, which will need a short sling. The other three will be replaced later.
