Static Rope

Hey all,

I bought a static rope a while back and it was incredibly stiff (can't remember the specs). It was stiff enough to the point where it wouldn't fit through an ATC or Grigri; always had to rap off of a hitch. I'd like to find a rope that I can use as a tag line, hauling, double rope raps, ect... I'd like to find one that could easily fit through an ATC along side of the dynamic rope for the longer raps. It's not for bigwall or any daily type of climbing. Just smaller climbs that consist of 3-4 pitches. Any suggestions?

Peace

Nothing wrong with taking a second dynamic climbing rope.
If you must have a static rope, consider one around 3/8 of an inch.

If you really find a need for a static then I'd recommend the sterling 9mm HTP, kinda stiff fresh of the roll, but with use becomes nice and supple...

I'm guessing you got PMI 11mm Max Wear. It's typically used with a rappel rack. Stuff is so stiff 2/3ft of it will stand up straight.

Pretty heavy for a tag line.

Is it white with a red stitch (Max-Wear)? Or white with a red and black stitch (EZ-Bend)?

No, just solid black. Can barely tie a figure eight.
