http://www.ursportswear.com is doing a survey for you men folk. They would like it to take a comprehensive look at what you like in the way of sportswear. So, lets hear it. What would you change about your climbing wear?

Feeling really unimaginative take the survey.

denim pants that look and fit like these, but with a gusseted crotch as well as anything else needed to prevent hindrance of movement.

http://s9.thisnext.com/media/largest_dimension/FA00CE62.jpg

also, the same thing, but with some sort of lining, for cooler temps.

really warm slippers with built in pockets for hand warmers, but with soles robust enough to withstand walking.

Is there a reason why you want denim fabric? Obviously it would offer more protection from abrasion, from slab or really any other sort of rock face.

Is there another reason?

Love the slipper idea!

Metallic fabrics. Gold is my favorite.

Not a guy, but something I think would be useful for men might be a performance shirt with a see-through fabric window in the front so that they could show off their bare chests without the cold and discomfort of being actually shirtless . . . maybe with a tab in the back of the neck to attach a beanie?

What do I want to see in climbing-wear? Hmm... well I can't speak for all of us men, but here's the sort of thing I most want to see in climbing wear:

If you could arrange that at a crag near me, that'd be great, mmmkay?

+1. The bummer is that I haven't heard anything of Alex since her cover on Outside or whatever POS mag that was.

I'd love to see someone make low-rise merino wool briefs. I know Icebreakers make merino briefs but the waist is way too high.

Just to be clear you would like them right at your waist basically where your hip bone it located? Like the line between M & L on the image attached? Is this where you like would like most of your waist lines to be located?

Yes, the line between L & M is where I would want the waistband to be. Basically, I want the waistband to be well below the waist of whatever pants or shorts I'm wearing. Also, I'd like a waistband that is wide and soft.
Don't forget to make them from merino wool!

I'm a huge fan of the fit on the smart wool boxer briefs.

I would like to see a pair of thin fleece leg warmers that fit well over the tops of your climbing shoes and have a "pocket" on the inside so when you take your climbing shoes off, you can slide the warmers down over your feet and insert your toes into the inside "pocket" for warmth at belays.

Sounds awesome! That's brilliant! Wonder if there is someway and if it would be helpful to cover the heel too?

Out of curiosity, how much would you be willing to pay for such a piece of clothing?

Me personally? I would expect a free pair and a cut of future profits for having the idea.

Also, I already have a pair of Acorn fleece leg warmers-

http://www.amazingsocks.com/...rmers-Black-item.htm

-which work great. Using them is what gave me the idea for the toe pocket improvement. I would also add a hook, like on a gaiter, to help pull the front over your laces.

I would expect a refined version could sell for ~$30-50.

But kinda effeminate, just like white framed sunglasses.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

If you're wearing them over your lycra tights, for sure. I wear them under my pant legs.

Gotcha.

It is one of those things that, as someone who can sew/knit, I look at and think: $17? Wait, $30-50? really? Wow, crazy!

For sure. These would be a cinch to make for cheap. But if a reputable brand wanted to slap a "wind stopper" logo on there these things could be sold to the gear whores (like me) at top dollar.

Clothes that are reinforced in the usual areas (knees) that don't look like I've been spending another afternoon on my knees in a bar.

See Grylls, Bear.

Your referencing the bar because you dislike the different color fabric panels from

...Grylls, Bear.

Is that correct? Sorry, I do better in real life.

Durability, plus I just like wearing denim. There's something about it. That's why it's been so popular for so long.
