does anybody have some expirience with working on wind towers on the wind power farms around Bay Area?

As you're driving over Altamont pass heading East,on the South side of 580 you'll see a bunch of cars parked.
These are the guys who maintain the towers.
There also use to be a company out of Martinez who worked on guyed towers in the Bay Area; I can't remember their name, I'm sure a google search would find you some answers.
There also use to be a company out of Roseville who worked on towers.
What's your question?

Nothing. But I think the OP is looking for folks to talk with on the West Coast, because he mentions 'Bay area'. So, I'm moving it to West Coast.

thnx, I will try to find those companies, I`m interested in jobs avail, salaries, etc, is it better to be a trained repairman or outside maintenance guy, understand those are 2 different positions.

appreciate and how are the jobs availability, money on cell antennas??I use to work on rope jobs 30 years ago in Poland painting factories chimneys with anti-corroding paints-and all kind of repairs etc...

If I were you, I'd try to find work with wind towers vs. cell towers.
Most of cell towers needed have been built, so most of the work is either maintenance or testing.
Testing usually occurs at night when carriers have the least traffic/ use/ money being made.
Also you're likely to send a huge amount of time on the road, which is fine if you're single, hard if you're coupled up.The money is comparable to most trades, I have known guys who lived off their per diem and saved the rest.
If I remember correctly; Kukucska, quite possibly the greatest climber of the last generation, painted industrial chimneys in Poland around your time.

A rope access ticket will help for sure (either SPRAT or IRATA) but theres a chance the companies have their own "in house" training.
