Shoes hurting like hell - one foot bigger than the other?

Hey there,

I've just bought a pair of anasazi verdes, my first decent pair of climbing shoes.

My left foot is bigger than my right foot.

The size I've bought feels pretty tight on my right foot, and very painful on my left foot. I went to the gym yesterday and could not use the front part of my left foot because the pain on the knuckles of my toes pushing on the top of the shoes was so intense.

Will they stretch much? I feel like if I went half a size up, my right shoe would be slightly too big! Should I go all out, spend the extra money, and wear different sizes on different feet? :)

Advice much appreciated, thanks.

You need to find a climbing-shoe-buddy with opposite feet to you.

Or cut of the last digits on your long foot...

Personally, I would just deal with the pain until it stretches. If they're new, they will stretch.

Here’s the solution. Find a woman climber whose L foot is the size of your R foot and whose R foot is the size of your L foot. You buy, say, the smaller pair of shoes and she buys the larger pair, and then exchange one shoe. Both of you will be comfortable and will be sole mates and climb happily ever after.

Or you could go to http://www.evolvesports.com and pick a pair of shoes. Go to the order page and get a split sized pair. This is more expensive, but has the benefit of actually solving your problem.
