Hi all. I'm a fairly new climber with most of my experience being in gyms (I'm from Florida) and a great week long climbing trip to the Red River Gorge. I recently moved to Huntsville AL area and I'm wondering where the best sport climbs are. I looked into Monte Sano, but it doesn't seem to have much. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Yellow Bluff is by far the closest to Huntsville. It has a few high quality sport climbs but not a huge number. Foster Falls, Sandrock, Steele, and Little River Canyon are all a little over an hour away with lots of quality routes. There are some good boulders around Monte Sano but they tend to be spread out or inconvenient to access. Check out the Southeastern Climbers Coalition site http://www.seclimbers.org/

It depends on what you're into. If you don't mind the drive, Chattanooga and the surrounding area has some amazing climbing. Little Rock City in Soddy Daisy Tn for bouldering, Foster Falls near Jasper Tn for sport, and Tennessee-Wall in Prentice cooper WMA for trad.
