Jeff,

I suspect you're headed west...Good luck!

We will try to balance the scales by introducing a young east-coaster to the game:

Climbing Documentary Help! [In reply to]

Posted this in the main thread; giving it a shot here.

Hey everyone first time posting on this forum I hope this is in the right spot!

Alright I'm currently a sophomore at Massart and a photo major. I'm in a documentary class, and for 4months we have to pick a subject and follow it around; I chose climbing. I'm fairly new and have only been climbing for a couple years, but I wanted to shoot something I was extremely passionate about.
So here's where I need your help! I'm trying to find people I can climb, shoot, and just meet up with. If you know anyone that's willing or you are let me know. I've been doing a lot of climbing at hammond pond and Quincy lately. Any help at all even just a day or time where I could find people climbing would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

Thanks
-James
If anyone wants to contact me directly or see what I've shot currently shoot me an email at james_marquis at ymail.com

Wow! Someone posting in the Massholes site!!! What the hay!

Will be at Crow Hill on Sunday from 9 or 10 on. You are welcome to come out. We will have to wear face masks however if you want to film. Some of us are in the witness protection program and one of us is a damn illegal alien. I do have to get around to dropping a dime on Kevin eventually! On the upside there might be some food and beer available. BTW none of us can climb a damn lick!

If I could get out there I so would! I appreciate you letting me know but being in the city sans car makes it hard for me to truly get around. :/

Went to hammond pond the other night. Stuff was a little damp but still had a good time. I'd imagine you'd be fine wherever you go the weather has been so nice.

Warm enough for anyone?

Would love to get out somewhere close sometime soon. Anywhere in MA, NH, RI, CT would be fine by me.

Ah yes, that info would be useful. I am primarily a weekender but for a more interesting trip I can encroach on a weekday.

LW sounds awesome I haven't been down there in a couple of years.

There's been a proposal to install commercial zip lines in Quincy Quarries, and it seems that this would really impact any of the climbing that can be done there.

Check it out:

that's interesting. The new version of the MDC (whatever they call it now) would be the best place to talk about this.

But they say that it won'tWink

Here's the proposed layout: http://www.friendsofthebluehills.org/..._zipline_overlay.pdf

I'm no fan of the quarries, but this is a particularly horrible idea, who's going to clean up all that shit when the zip line fad dies.
