Hey all, I'v been climbing for about 3 years but new to slacking, and I was wondering how much webing should I have to start a slack line?

I taught my wife to take steps within a couple of hours by stringing up a 15-foot long line in the forest. I let the line stretch out and get really loose, but high enough that she didn't touch the ground. Lastly, I strung it near a branch for her to hold on to, so she could let go when she was centered.

After you start crusin', you will want to tighten up the line and span it to 35 feet or more. You will ultimately find your preferred distance with experimentation. Check out www.slackline.com for slackline rigging ideas.

I like to buy it in 100' lengths that way it will be versatile enough for most of your slacklining wants. And if it gets a worn area or breaks, you still have enough left for a shorter line. It's only 30 cents a foot right!

It depends how much distance there is between your anchors. I would go with a 50 foot length to be sure, though.

i agree with the 100' lengths, but if you cant spend the 30 dollars for some reason, get the length between the 2 anchors you have in mind, then get about 30 more feet. i use this technique, and i always end up with about 5-10 feet extra. (which is a good thing)

Its good to get more than you need so you can cut the rest for slings to rig the salckline or just to use as anchors when climbing (that is if you don't have too much already)

Ditto what the last two said. My slackline is a little over 20' feet, and that's what I've learned to walk on.

A little time and patience, and you'll be up in no time.

Good Luck! :)

I just bought a 50' piece. It's worked great for everything that I have tried.
