Im heading down to Disneyland with the family next week and have managed to convince them that we should do at least one day climbing. What is the best option within an hours drive. Ideally it would have a kids wall and some harder routes for me.

Schoolhouse Rock is a good place for the kids, and anywhere else has the harder routes for you. If you want trad, you'll have to drive a bit further to go to J-Tree or Thaquitz/Suicide rock which are probably both just under 2 hours from Disneyland.

There's also Big Rock out at Lake Perris if you don't mind slab (and if repairs on the dam haven't shut down the climbing area yet).

I heard that to send the Matterhorn I'll need a double rack to #3 and a shotgun for that troublesome yeti

Stoney Point is about an hour up HWY_5 if you don't hit much traffic. Good 7's & 8's on the Mozart & Beethoven wall. Harder 10's & 11's right nearby on the Back wall.
