So I have a couple pair of shoes now and I thought my la sportiva katanas would break in a little morethan they have and I've noticed they're getting worse over the past six months and they are killing my achilles...I'm planning a trip to find some more shoes but I was wondering if y'all had any suggestions. I need bouldering shoes that obviously don't come up too high in the back. Any help would be great! I'm a female..just adding that in there

The Katanas hurt my heel too. I love the Miura VS's and Solutions however.

After trying a bunch of different styles, most of which hurt my achilles within minutes, I settled on the Evolv Rockstars. They are low-volume and are work well enough. So far, I've only used them indoors (both bouldering and top-rope)

I'm a female..just adding that in there Quite a few women's speciic shoes come up lower in the back of the heel. Because of this most women specific shoes don't work with my feet, but the Katanas do. So my next step in logic is to assume that the heels that work for my feet don't work for yours, and the heels on the women's shoes I've tried on recently that don't work for me should work for you. Here are some women specfic shoes that don't work for me because of the heel: -Scarpa Force, women's -Five Ten Siren -I think all the Evolve women's shoes -I remember trying on the women's Anasazi's and not liking them, but I don't remember if that was because the heel was too low cut for me or generally the shoe was too low volume. If you go to a store and tell them you're looking for a women's specific climbing shoe because you need a lower cut heel the store might be able to direct you to some other models as well.
