I'm going to be in Croatia for a caving expedition from July 28 - Aug 11. I would like to spend either the week before or the week after rock climbing in the coastal region of Croatia. I'm most interested in longer routes up to 6a or 6a+(I'm also happy to follow some harder pitches on ascenders), but I'm up for sport climbing and bouldering as well.

hey - id be interested in the week after but wont know for sure if i can go closer to time - leading 5 plus sport but normally a trad climbing - can second u on ur expeditions as multi pitch is what i prefer - think there hard for grade in palenkia if thats where you were thinking of going - keep me posted as want to get their at some stage -

That would be great. I assume you mean Paklenica? If so, then yeah, that's the place I'd most like to climb. But I would also be happy to climb in Omis or any of the other great crags of the coastal mountains. Let me know how your plans work out. Hi guys,
I will also be in Croatia late July / early August (itinerary a bit up in the air right now, but most likely the last week of July through the first week of August). I would love to sample the climbing in Paklenica.
Would either one of you guys be keen on teaming up for some sport climbing and maybe multi-pitch? If we are roughly going to be in the area at the same time, I think we might be able to work out a schedule such that we all get some good climbing in!
A bit about my climbing: I lead trad up to 5.10-ish and sport up to 5.11-ish. Done quite a bit of climbing in Yosemite, and some climbing in Chamonix.

Dave,
I just bought my plane tickets and I plan to be free to climb from Aug 12-19. Depending on how things go on my caving expedition, I could potentially be free to climb sooner. And if you're passing through North Velebit NP between July 28 and Aug 11, it might be possible for me to meet up with you for a day or two.
I've mostly only climbed in the southeastern states and climb 10- trad and a little harder sport.

I'll still be up on the mountain for my exped the first week of Aug, but if I can get transportation and get a cell phone to work up there, it might be possible to climb for a day or two near North Velebit NP during the 1st week of August. If you can stick around until after the 11th, I'll definitely be free to climb until the 19th. I'll probably spend that time in Paklenica NP.

I'm heading out now. I'll be in the mountains for a couple weeks and then heading to Paklinica for a couple days starting around the 11th. After that I'll be heading down to the Split area for the remainder of my stay. If you want to join me for some climbing, text me at 54zero-52zero-650seven.
