My boss just gave me one of these babies:

Any suggestions on how to rig this puppy?

You confused me.

First you say your boss gave you a baby which makes me wonder if there's a potential sexual harassment suit in there.

Then you say it's a puppy.

WTF?

*on the level

Usually welded to the side of trucks for keeper straps. You need some sort of lever to insert into the hole on the right side of the ratchet. A tire iron usually fits in there nicely.

Just noticed this was in the slacklining forum. This probably won't help you much, unless you have a really long lever. Plus, they usually are made for 2 inch webbing. Not that it wouldnt' work with 1 inch. I don't know that it would pull your line anywhere near as tight as other more traditional advantages can.

Your keen observational skills astound me.

It's actually made for 4-inch webbing

Maybe you could take a strap through the back for lasing it to a tree/whatever and then use a tire iron or bar of some sort to ratchet the webbing tight.
It looks like the ratchet off of a 'come-along'.

Alright, you stupid fuck. Here's what you need to do:
Step 1: Stop being a fucking prick - This is an important step.
Step B - before you finish stopping being a prick, rip some stupid ass richy motherfucker on ebay by selling them that clippy piece of fuck for 100 bucks - include the word "yacht" in the description for guaranteed views by rich dumbasses.

Step final - Finish not being a prick, use the money to buy a perfect tension or gibbon line (or if you want to become an awesome fuck like Areyoumydude, a 1" line), learn how to slack.

Step sequel - post photos of your sexy self walking your line in a crop top on /r/slackline for maximal upvote karma whoring. Include location to receive constant PMs from horny teenage boys in your local area.

Are you fucking kidding me? Seriously? You come in here, to THIS forum, and you make an OP that isn't even on the topic we are talking about before after the OP was not yet already posted?

Holy shit guy! I just want some advise on how to rig a 10,000lbs 4-inch ratchet to a tree to practice.

Highline info would be useful too since I am planning on setting this up once I know I'm good enough to walk across.

Can I just sling it? Has anyone ever used one of these before? I just want to be extra safe.

Here's some info: Remove the tensioning system from the highline. Tension the line and remove the ratchet. Taking whippers on a highline with the tensioning system inline is a good way to test your backup line.

Just ask these armature dunces: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgvM37w4MfU

Holy shit guy yourself! You think a 10,000lbs 4-inch rachet is enough to hold YOU? That thing will explode into more fucking pieces then the death star.

Being "good" enough to walk across. Highlines are completely different. The gravity is completely unintuitive once you get more then 10 feet off the ground. You think just because you walked a little slackline you're ready for the big leagues? To walk a chet-less rat line with gravity that comes in like rain on a windy scottish day?

Think again, panda bear. Crazy shit happens out there. You can't just sling shit and call it good.

I would have thought that someone who belays on their first date would know a thing or two about safety, but I guess you didn't learn about that, growing up in the bible belt and all.

Kartessa - You are being a jerk with comments like that and you really didn't manage to ask a coherent question until around the bottom of the first page so knock it off.

Sungam - Take the higher road on this one.

You've post on this site EVERY DAY for the past year.

Besides I'd think their are way more important reasons in someones life other than forum moderation that would take up your time and not allow you to post here.
