Going to be in Vegas for this weekend and will have a full day for Red Rocks on Saturday, half or 3/4ths a day on Sunday. I will only have my sport gear with me. Any suggestions on where to go are much appreciated. The guide book I have is 90% trad so it's not much help.

First and second turn-outs are where the majority of the sport routes are located. There's also a bit in Calico Basin.

Hint 1: get the new guidebook.
Hint 2: if you add up the 1200 or so routes in RR, you'll find that about 90% are indeed trad or require at least some trad gear.

Stick to the 1st or 2nd pullouts, maybe do one each day.

True that it's mostly gear climbing in Red Rocks but there's still more than enough sport in that area to keep you busy for much longer than a weekend.

Black corridor in the second pullout area is a good place to start: http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/North_America/United_States/Nevada/Red_Rock_Canyon/Second_Pullout/Black_Corridor/

We were in Red Rocks Second Pullout last week (2nd week in Feb 2013), climbed at a "new" area called Meet-up Wall.
There was a lot of (what seemed to be) blood at the base of the crag and also blood on the trail for at least a 100 yards in/out of the crag.

Does anybody have any more info.
I hope the guy/gal is OK!!!
