Weyerhaeuser, has closed all access from the lower gate into the Callahans until about mid summer while they bring equipment in and harvest. Please note that some of our old contacts with the company have retired and we are in the process of building new relations. Please pass this on to others so that there are no missteps in the months to come.

Loggings over and the Callahans are open to climbing.
Hike in from the lower gate (<3/4 mile).
In the past gates have been left open so you can drive in to the top on weekends (Sat & Sun) from October - mid March. During this period I recommend driving up Callahan Rd and through the north gate. Mileages in the Umpqua Guide to trailheads on top begin from the end of the pavement before you have come to the upper gate. We've also placed pink flagging at each trailhead.
