Good weekend. Went up to a house on the russian river for a friend's bday weekend. The heatwave kicked ass for swimming in the river and wine on the deck. Good sunset at the beach, and then I rendesvoued with the loyerette and friends back in Healdsburg for more wine tasting. After another beach sesh. Temps dropping this week, maybe some precip. Might be in teh valley next weekend.

Oh yes, and I recieved a vile voicemail from the GordoFest down in Josh. Sounds like everyone had a good time down there, and enjoyed slandering me a bit. The time stamp was 1:04 am, and the angry voice was slurring like it was going out of style.

Well, sent out an anti-sprayogram yesterday to the gerks, since we were so amused at our gumbytude, but here's the full story. Went camping with the in-laws this weekend. It was the full shebang: two large camping trailers, awnings, screaming kids, tied up miniature dog, fatty pork products for breakfast, people worrying about cold showers, peeing in the woods, isolation, and everyone commenting on the regions amazing lack of cell coverage while staring at their iphones. Didn't expect to get a lot of climbing in, even though we were only about 20 mins from Looking Glass. It rained most of Saturday, and was a bad forecast for Sunday, so wasn't too bummed that we weren't off disappointing our loved ones on the rock. Sunday,we headed over to the Glass, still not a great forecast but we figured what the hell. Were originally planning on just doing single pitch, but dribble thought it might be fun to do a bit longer of something on the dummy dome, so whatev. Promptly missed the major boyscout handicap accessible trail, and bushwhacked through rodos for 45 mins to the base of the crag. Really windy and thunderheads were coming and going very quickly. Was on other party, some sort of informally guided group, and we yelled up to them to figure out which route to get on, since the whole thing was a sea of eyebrows. There were no chalk marks! Top of the second pitch of Sundial Crack (5.8), I wound up getting off route, and had to do a 60 foot downward traverse. While traversing, I heard the guide a few routes over telling his clients "see those guys, they know what they're doing!" I almost fell off from laughing at that. Fortunately, I could get pro in right before every hard slab move. For some reason this really pissed dribble off on the seconding, tho. Wind kicked up, we both complained of the cold, rain started in, so we bailzed. The 80m made it down to 5 feet off the deck. Wind got really fierce, I pulled the rope, and apparently the end managed to tie itself in a knot WHILE falling, after I had pulled it. Epic averted, but we had to laugh at this finish to a gumby day. We found the boyscout trail for the hike out, and mocked ourselves even more. Next time we go to the Glass, we're bringing subway wrappers, just in case.

Doc sez I am not allowed shouldn't be climbing on stumpy, since I blew the stitches the scar tissue is much thinner than ideal and I could just blow out the skin it self. And that would suck. I did try going to the gym last week, and it hurrrrrt. So, it's gardening and biking and fishing for me this summer. Speaking uv, I'm thinking of getting a hard tail... I'm pretty sure there's a doc in here that recommends you go climbing. And besides... docs just give guidelines, that's awl. Went looking at mountain bikes earlier in the week in Moab. Fuck are they expensive. Then got a call from this chick from the campground who was in the thrift store and there was a great bike for me for like 10% of the cost of a new one. Win. Smooth. Look how Donny plays it. He shows up at the campground and meets the lady folk. But since he has a class 3 lady at home, he just exchanges the digits and sends them out shopping for him.

And yeah, I would be pissed if I were seconding that, too. I had the opposite moment in the gym-- I was traversing to warmup, and overheard a Mom saying to her kid, "Do you see what that lady is doing? DON'T do that, or we are out of here!"

I wonder what the weather was like at the Red. I ended up not going climbing this weekend. Was planning to go, up until the last moment, but CO guy has exams, Banz didn't want to go to the Red bc it looked like rain, and with the forecast getting worse and worse I couldn't find anyone to carpool with, except for the one girl who I really don't like. And if she and I were going together it would have meant not just carpooling, but also climbing with her, and my patience is not that great these days. So, despite T. waving arms and jumping up and down and shouting about how great the LOTA is becoming under his care, and how much I would love his company, I decided to bail. And that opened up Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights for... (Cover your eyes, you have been warned)... DANCING!!!!! Let's just say that it was a glorious weekend with a lot of interesting experiences, and leave it at that.
