That's funny, I put together my first last thursday.

before yore gw trip?

Yeah. I wasn't sure if I could scare up a GW partner or not. If I was solo, the plan was to stick my way up the new DTSA rig and finish cleaning it. I haven't cleaned the first 5 bolts of climbing at all. Season is winding down both there and GW though, I hear guys are getting in to the Leap.

Didn't take it to GW though, you generally don't need one there. I've never used one.

It's all the same to me.

yes, well, you did think that mountain view was in socak.
For having minored in it, I suck at geography.

A certain someone that I know thought that Poland was in Western Europe, since obviously Hitler invaded it right before France, so it must have been on the way from Germany.

Lena?

I couldn't let this stand, even as a joke.

No, not Lena. Lena's grandmother happens to be from Poland, so the knowledge of Poland invasion was actually rather personal.

If you look at this map here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/...bbentrop-Molotov.svg

See the little region highlighted on the left, called "Vilnus Region", the part that was supposed to be occupied by Germans, but ended up in Soviet hands?

There was a town called Vilna there, first the Germans came in, then the Russians kicked them out.

If not for this little twist of history, jewish grandmother probably would not have survived, and Lena might not have been born.

Lena, I've been racking my brain on who this Ian kid could be, but I've got nothing! I used to get up at all of the outing club and climbing club meetings and talk in front of hundreds of students, so I got a lot of 'hi Mo! I know you but you don't know me!' conversations on campus.

Yes, I can see how that could happen, because you are rather noticeable/memorable. He didn't make it sound like you guys were best friends, more like 'oh, I know her'.

He is a recent addition to my facespace web of "people I talked to for a few minutes".

Those poeple usually get purged after a few months for me unless I find them interesting or I figure they'll be a useful contact sometime in the future.

never clip the draw or the rope all the way into the clip. use as little of the clamp as you can get away with it still holding. you'll never be able to force the gator clamp to open further by pulling on it like that, you have to set it so that you just sort of slide the shit out. all the clamps are very strong.

Met Corey and Nathan. Very cool guys. They are doing something on the Bridger Jacks today. The Dubble Asiant and Kev are doing Castleton on a busy Saturday. We are going for a rest day bike ride.

Mountain biking is a good way to hurt your self on climbing trips.

This seems true - though I've dodged it thus far. Slick rock biking is pretty swete.

while that's hard to argue with, I don't know that acquisition of a stick klip really changes the extent to which I am or am not whats rong with climbing.

Or, just loosen the clamp spring by squeezing it several hundred thousand times. You could even incorporate it into your hangboard sesh for more grip strength!
