Poland had a hard time in WWII. I would argue they got the worst treatment of any allied nation in the post-war.

How 'right before' was it? Didn't almost a year pass between the two events?
I took a Soviet history class from a grizzled old guy who had been a Polish tank commander very briefly during WWII. Great class. He used to get so fired up, and he was ancient.

Missoula is a fun town. There is some climbing just outside of it doc, I've heard it's good. Lost horse canyon maybe? There is a climbing shop in town with the guide.

his stick klip is about 3 feet long, and non-extendable. It has limited functionality. It does have a bottle opener attached, though.
