When we got through the gates, he was so happy and vibrant. As he hugged Winnie the Pooh, I started crying. facebook has a like button and no dislike button. rc.com has a report button and no like button (at least not in the campground where most of the activity takes place, except for the webbing thread). hmmm... On rc.com you can just post "Hey, I like that". Just like on facebook. No need for a silly button. +1

I definitely need a gym partner for when I'm working in NOVA, so this could work out well. Check out the sandwich thread... You're welcome Thank you. Unfortunately ham is the least tasty sammich meat, so will be submitting my own no-ham hamsammich recipe.

Unfortunately my rack refuses to share a closet with it, so I have been forced to store it on a shelf with my books. It's kind of a sad situation really. who's the man of that house, you or the gear? This is just one symptom on an ongoing identity crisis. I actually climbed 3 boulder problems last month. [image]https://encrypted-tbn3.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcShmQE_j_rYhq5sVnxjlAICHzn6VgM298TRpM7M7QBEtLZG69FqMQ[/image] next you'll tell me you're clipping bolts, too. Hence the GriGri sigh. at least i bought mine to set routes at the gym for free climbing. Yes, these are indeed dark days for me. I do have the CO trip coming up though and I'm going back to Cannon at the end of the summer, so I haven't totally lost my way. What's on your Cannon tick list? Don't really have one. Don't even have a partner, actually. I was kind of hoping you might want to come out, or know someone who does. My friend is taking his girlfriend up to meet his family for several days around july 4th and wants to climb Recompense at Cathedral, so I'm going to fly up and climb that with him on his one day out. I want to head to Cannon for two days after that. Just need a partner. Will it be too hot that time of year? Better off climbing somewhere with shade? I personally try to avoid Cannon in August because NE gets a fair amount of thunder storms in Aug and you can't see them coming when on Cannon. Which friend are you going to do Recompense with? Hmmmm, good point. Could be sketchy. Ron's been itching to get on Recompense. You would think that dude getting a compound fracture five minutes after we show up for our first day of climbing would have turned him off but he's all about it. The pictures of it look really good. get him on some 5.9 offwidths first. that, for me, is the crux pitch, and no, you can't avoid that crux by doing the beast flake variation. NA, I'd be down for Cannon in August, but would need a ride since I don't get my license back until Sept/Oct. A two day trip would be fine, maybe hit Consolation Prize or Condescendor? I don't worry about the blind storms coming in, just pay attention to the forecast and the leader climbs with a tag line. Recompense isn't that bad, and the second pitch doesn't climb like a traditional offwidth. I personally prefer to do the original line over the Beast Flake variant, but most get wooed by the position and 5.4 jams of the flake. You would just need to let me know what color nail polish you'll be sporting so I can wear some clashing Lycra. Excellent. I'll have a car while I'm there so it's all good. Just did some research and all those routes sound good. I think Vertigo would be first on my list because that finger crack just looks so damn good! The only one I might not want to lead is Condescender but it does sound pretty well protected thru the hard climbing so maybe...hate to climb it in direct sun though. I'll let you know once the dates are set but it should be a little before or after July 4th. I'll borrow my friends guidebook and do some more research in the meantime.

Had a surprisingly good weekend at the NRG despite the constant rain on saturday and obscene seepage on sunday. First Buttress at the Meadow was dry on saturday and not very crowed so we just set up shop and went to redpointing. Sunday was the same story because of the seepage but Rico Suave Buttress was dry and surprisingly empty, so everyone picked there routes and went to work. It's been awhile since I just camped out and worked the same few routes all day. I definitely failed as much as I succeeded but it was satisfying.

I'm pretty sure there were at least 3 instances of oversharing and 2 instance of slandering a persons religion this weekend. After a bit of reflection, and although she seemed very gracious about it, I doubt that particular individual will choose to climb with me again...WOOPS!

One of my new favourite photos. I almost shit bricks when I realized what was about to happen, and who was in the background. You might have to zoom in to see it properly.
