Hi Everyone, I'm from Brazil and I'm gonna visit San Diego for 2 weeks on July. I appreciate if everyone could give me some information about the best location for sport climbing and boldering around the city, and which's the best gym. Thanks

For sport climbing, probably Eagle Peak and Corte Madera. For bouldering, Mt. Woodson and Santee.

July is pretty hot up here, so the best places for sport climbing and bouldering are much less accessible. The best sport climbing in the area are Eagle Peak, Corte Madera, and El Cajon Mtn, all three areas are backcountry multipitch areas, but they all face south and are way too hot that time of year. I agree that Woodson and Santee might be the best bet. Woodson has a nice breeze in the afternoon, and much of the mountain goes into the shade. Don't leave anything valuable in your car if you head out there though since break-ins are known to happen. There is much better summer climbing in the surrounding areas if you're willing to drive. The best gym is Mesa Rim: http://www.mesarim.com Josh
