I was perusing the routes database and a climb I was looking at said "CF not recommended." Can someone tell me what this means please? I looked in the climber's dictionary and couldn't find anything...is there anywhere that lists what the abbreviations used in the routes database stand for? Thanks. Edit to add...I've been wracking my brain and "controlled fall" is the only thing I can come up with? But I'm not sure.

Maybe you should list a link to what you are talking about so we can take a look for ourselves. JB

Something tells me it is going to be a cluster fuck, as I said above it is a popular (multipitch) 5.3. It probably is going to have a queue line and everything. *sigh*

I believe that there have been 3yolds who had climbed it. Otherwise... yeah, avoid it.

It means that the rappel route is not recommended and to be careful. The climb is a great one, but you should do the walk off after and not rappel.

Thanks Lena! I think it would be a good climb for my daughter...easy...AND I can belay her from the belay station while her Dad is on the ground with her. Perfect.

It means that, because of it's popularity, it will be a Cluster Fuck if you try to rappel. Walk off instead. Got it now? Josh
