Tried Defy Velcro, but when sized for good snug fit for toes and heel they leave too much volume on top of my foot.
Elektra Velcro has noticeably lover volume distribution, unfortunately local shop does not carry the required size.
A couple of question -
Men - have you tried Elektras?
Women - have you tried Elektras and Defies, what were your impressions?

I am a woman and I have tried the Elektras and do not like them very much. I don't think they fit my foot very well. I have an average width foot and they seemed to be a little too wide, especially in the arch area. I suggest you try them on and climb a bit with them and see if you like them.

I had a pair of Elektras, and they were O.K., but not my favorite.

But it is really impossible to say whether Elektra would fit you based on how the Defy's feel on you. They might, or they might not.

Personal experience with another brand-- 5.10 Anasazis never fit me right, and empty dead space in the fabric atop of my foot was one of the main issues. So when they came up with Anasazi LV (low volume), I was eager to try them. After all, if the classic ones were too wide, the LV should be good! Nope. If anything, they fit me even worse than the classic Anasazi.

It comes back to the same truth. No shortcut for trying the shoes on. You are making a reasonable educated guess based on how Defys fit you, but trying Elektras on is ultimately the only way to tell.

lena, outsidethelines,

Thanks for responses. I absolutely agree that it is essential to try out the shoe.
The post was to gauge a possibility of the shoe fitting my foot - as I mentioned above, local shop doesn't carry my size.
