110 lbs on the scale this morning. Real? Or just didn't drink enough water yesterday? We'll see tomorrow.

Yup, I'm on a for real diet now. Not being able to fit in my summer clothes is one thing, but my stump getting to far to fit my arm right... Well, that's a red flag. I'm at 127, goal is 118 by August.

Too fat, dammit. Ducking iPhone. I'm thinking it will be easier than I fear, starting by cutting out carbs ( though not completely) and just going for at least a 20 minute walk every day in addition to my longer hikes I do on the weekend. My job and my homelife are pretty much completeky sedentary ( though gardening burns 200 k/hr!) So even small changes in activity will make a big difference.

The lumberjack and I went for a run this weekend, and my goal was to burn 750 k for the run. What did he burn for the same run? 1700.

We are on a diet of the wallet as well, so not eating out should also save me some calories.

I'm trying ot figure out what Nathan is doing....smoking and grabbing his crotch?

brushing his teeth and grabbing his crotch? there's clearly some crotch-grabbing taking place.

Just wanted to say, apropos of nothing...

Once and asshole, always an asshole. Why would I think that time changes things? Oh well, I guess I needed a refresher, least I forget that mean and petty is always going to be mean and petty.

Sent the rig. Felt pretty easy in the dry conditions after so many rainy days on it. Then went to a slideshow on Saturday night by the first guidebook author of the New talking about the glory days of the 1980s. It was mostly a bunch of old people who don't climb anymore cupping each other's balls and talking about how rad they were back in the day. Tripper Jim would have loved it; the general had a strong presence there. Free beer was pretty cool though.

What's the matter doc? Your mountain yuppie community a little too blue collar for you? Stay out of the Bozone, deadbeat! hahahaha!!

An ever present debate around WV is "how hard does Kurt still climb?" Nobody seems to know, and few people see him at the crag anymore.

So it looks like I got enough sun this weekend that I've started my farmer's tan for the year.

Sat was awesome. Went out with one of my main partners and just went through and got on a bunch of routes that were kind hard for us (3 tries on one, 2 on another, fucked up the crux on the third and didn't bother to try to get it clean, desperate finish on the 4th). Anyway, 12 pitches in all including the warmups, good volume day.

Yesterday I went to a wall I've never been to before. Still lots of potential left for routes there, but nothing really steep enough to be interesting. Went out in a group of three and things went SOOOOO slow. 7 climbs in all, most of them trying working out some moves on harder routes.

IMO the hardest ones were not bolted very well for someone trying to work the route. Young guy kept telling me it was a safe fall. He kept missing the point that it kinda sucks having to hook in direct and hauling up the stick clip to work the route. For yesterday I just worked the route on TR, was easier that way.
