Happened: Wednesday, May 16th, 2012 - afternoon.

News reports:
http://www.thestar.com/...liff-at-mt-nemo?bn=1

http://toronto.ctv.ca/.../?hub=TorontoNewHome

Conclusion seems to be that he was lowered off the end of his rope -- which is unusual as the routes aren't long there, but that he was using a rope intended for gym climbing, rather than a "normal" length one of 60m (or even 50m).

Looks like broken ankle or leg, but not more severe injuries.

Sigh, These sort of accidents are become far far too common.

My guess, the rescuers were met by a woman at the top of the cliff, who was able to guide them to roughly where they needed to lower the rescue gear -- but that this information got garbled in the reporting.

Probably one of those areas where you start on top.
