I am in 100% agreement but it is still fun. Not being in a hurry helps a lot. As I have read plenty of posts stating "don't do that" the double prussik and bachman hitch have become close friends. That said I have not taken a textbook lead fall as I don't allow myself to climb that far into danger. THAT said very few of the climbs at White Rocks allows a whole lot of pro. So... super dangerous and scary. I've done the top roping thing, also super fun.
Silent partner has been the next item for awhile... just need to get rid of a bass guitar first.
Thanks for your concern and tips.... even if thats not what you intended.

get well versed in the basics. I use an alpine butterfly at the anchor to clip in a screamer to help absorb a short fall, and don't forget to tie a BACK UP KNOT! you'll need to find a stance every 20' or so that allows you to tie and untie a bight. (or fifi or french free) search the various aid forums and adapt that for your system. I use an unmodified gri gri, but i need to pull out enough slack to make the move if i step out of my aiders. cant comment personally on the sp but from the beta that seems to bee the best able to self feed.

Hey whats up PA climbers. Im just getting started in the gym but looking to get outside on some easier stuff at perhaps Livezey, Birdsboro, and Stover and all the bouldering in between. I was alo wondering if the new PRG East Falls opened, it sounds like it will be awesome.
Eventually, Id like to to get to the Gunks and the Del Water Gap (cue the darth vader music) but thats obviously aways off.
Anyways Im lookin forward to meeting cool people. I was watching seinfeld the other night and this was on  .

I've not been indoor climbing very long, but I eventually want to move to outdoor. I live in Downingtown...does anyone else around here know of any good places to climb?

Birdsboro is near you, but climbers need atleast some experience to climb there.
