RIP Chris Sadlej

It is with a heavy heart that I report that my friend Chris Sadlej died in a climbing accident in Poland this past weekend.

I met him last year while he was doing his Post doc at Princeton. He was seeking a Gunks partner and luckily for me, I responded to his internet query. We spent many days climbing together at the Gunks and he bequeathed his annual pass to me. "Hold on to this Gail, I will be back next year to climb with you". Oh, how I wish that could be.

Chris was smart, sweet, kind and a great climbing partner. He was amazingly supportive of my climbing and pushed me to climb harder and move out of my comfort zone. He pushed me to believe in my climbing ability.

I will miss him very much.

Chris, I hope that you rest in peace. I will miss you and I will always cherish our friendship.

My sincerest condolences to his daughters and family.

Chris was definitely a great guy. The world didn't just lose a climber.

Yes, but, his family asked that the cause not be discussed on the internet.

RIP Chris. I miss you.

Oh that's so sad.

I feel bad for his children and his wife he left behind as it must be very hard for them with that great loss. I am guessing a young family as he looks very young.

I hope he R.I.P and didn't suffer when it occurred.
