There's a 200m long wall in BLORA and several more walls north of the lake on Ft Hood property. The wall I saw, see pics below, was maybe 20m high and had climbs ranging from 5.7 to 5.11+. The front desk said they currently do not allow climbing at BLORA. Has anyone looked into trying to open this area up or would everyone rather drive down to Austin for climbing?

Many years ago when I was stationed at Ft. Hood there were some bolted routes on the north side of the lake, a little west of the BLORA area, on Ft. Hood. I moved away from there just as they were building the gym in Harker Heights and don't know what the climbing community is like now, but back then there wasn't much of one. Is the rock you're looking at on Army land? Is it something that other people are likely to see? If the answers are yes and no I'd probably bolt it.

I saw three bolted routes on this wall. Top rope or trad anchors are possible in places, but it's definitely well hidden. If anyone's interested in knowing where it is, PM me.
