I'm interested in doing some of the classic alpine rock climbs but can't pull any vacation time until Fall. Is RMNP still a logical destination at that time? Thx.

September can be good or it can be snowing. October is generally too late. You can always try and just go to Lumpy Ridge or Boulder if the weather is cold.

Kind of a crap shoot for the rock routes. September could be ok, albeit probably a bit on the cool side and short days. October would be worse. I got some pretty good frostbite the 2nd week in October while climbing on Long's, so it can certainly get really cold by then. But year to year it will be different. Could always go up there and if it is too cold for alpine climbing, climb at Lumpy. September in Yosemite/Tuolumne/Sierra is usually fantastic and the alpine rock is better IMO.
