I was up skiing in March of this year. I fell and somehow caused the piramformis (my right-side @$$) to spasm horribly. Right leg? Numb instantly. I tried to continue climbing and well v0-v2 was shut-down. I couldn't really climb stairs with a handrail.
I'm climbing again, 5.11 single-pitch (no gymnastic climbing at all) and doing okay. Leg is numb and my @$$ will cramp (right-side) on wide flaring stances.
My question, I'm what nearly 6 months into this and while my strength is back the feeling isn't and my butt still hurts if I move wrong or climb for too long at my limit.
Anybody have advice for this injury besides:
1. PT, I have the best available. Dude is a genius.
2. Stretches and core strength.
3. Prayer and small animal sacrifices.
4. Having my wife rub it rub it rub it.
I'm doing all the above but aside from my strength returning nothing else is improving.
Suggestions are welcome so long as they are on topic, hateless and totally focused on improving my zen ninja points... whatever those are?
Thanks in advance!
Numbness and weakness sounds suspiciously like a pinched or injured nerve. Have your docs checked for this? Until you know the source of the problem, it's extraordinarily difficult to suggest appropriate remedies.
