OutdoorGearLab.com is the gear review site for SuperTopo and run by Chris McNamera, so you can probably guess that they know at least a little bit about climbing.

THe site is owned/run by mcnamara, and he has a whole team of folks doing side by side gear comparisons. I think it's helpful that they do the side by side thing, but I also think their reviews suffer in that they are churning out so many I highly doubt much of the stuff gets uses for more than half a day. The good news is that the stuff they recommend is good gear, and if you are new to the game it can be helpful. Personally, I'd rather check stuff out/try it on in person, or talk to people I actually know about stuff to get an informed opinion.

I've heard a friend mention McNamara before, and I didn't give it due attention until I came across this post. Thanks for the info. Next time, I'll be looking for some gear, I'll surely check the site out.

I consider them one of the best sources for "pro" reviews- Chris Mac climbs a ton and knows so many people in the industry. The reviews are as accurate as any out there, and the gear gets used (and abused.) Plus, he's not sponsored (that I know of) so it's fairly unbiased.
