Arlene Blum, whose climbing exploits included leading the first female ascent of Annapurna, is being recognized as one of Dove's "Women Who Should Be Famous". In addition to her climbing accomplishments, Arlene is responsible for the removal 'Tris', a flame retardant that is easily absorbed through the skin, from baby pajamas. I got to meet Arlene Blum at a flame retardant conference a few years back. Once i realized that she was indeed the Arlene Blum, I brought in my Annapurna book for her to sign. If you want to be inspired, here is a little bit of her story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBUt9NeQNU0 Thanks, Arlene, for all that you do!

Pretty rad. I bought her book years ago, the first climbing/mountaineering book I read like that. I always wanted one of the "women's place" t-shirts too.

Not a bad idea!

A Woman's Place Is On Top! a friend got me one a few years ago. i believe she purchased it from arlene blum's website. don't do a knockoff, get one from blum directly, i think the proceeds go to a non profit org.
