A few months ago, my primary outdoor harness almost blew through the leg loop arch tie in and was wearing hard on the swami-belt tie in point and I had no choice but to retire it. It had lasted two years. My other harness, at 8 years is beyond what many consider a safe age for nylon or plastic goods. I've been using it this summer in hopes to find the right replacement as I'm picky when it comes to harnesses. Long story short, I've retired two harnesses already this year. My main outdoor harness, my backup harness that was getting old and showing signs of wear, and my "alpine" harness that, frankly, had run it's course through history and is no longer useful. My new harness showed up in the mail yesterday. I'm stoked. Hopefully I don't blow through it too quick. Also, I'm trying a new brand; so I'lll see how it goes. I've been a Pretzl person when it comes to harnesses. Hopefully Arcteryx is nice to me. worthless without pics = WWP? I'll see what I can muster up tomorrow.

The swami on the harness in question is still good. It's the leg loop arch that is questionable. As soon as I had noticed it I didn't climb on that harness any more.
