Only Janderson, no Manderson? manderson went to the snadbox. We can only hope that he does not come back like Doc as an embittered alcoholic pawn of the military industrial complex. DON'T YOU JUDGE ME!!! We watched ST:TNG "Chain of Command" last night. Picard goes on a secret mission and gets captured. He demands his rights under the space-Geneva convention and is told that they only apply to prisoners of war. He is being held as a terrorist. They try and get information out of him, which he doesn't have, by torture. (The first thing they do is strip him naked and tie him in a stress position with his hands over his head, overnight.) By the end, Picard is ready to tell them anything they want, including absolute nonsense (that there are 5 lights instead of 4), just to get him to stop. He gets rescued right before he breaks, but you can kinda tell he was going to. And then he confesses to the counselor that not only was he going to say it, but he believed he could see 5 lights. Then we got a moral lecture on how torture is worse than wrong, it's useless for getting good information. This came out 20 years ago. It was a little hard to watch.

I don't actually think it'd be a stretch to say TNG and the x files [I was 5-10 years old in the early 90s] taught me a lot about negotiating, empathy, skepticism, yay-science (is that a value? I'm going to count it) and feminism.

My current first choice for boys turns put to be an up and coming red neck name, so that may get ditched. When is too soon to start a betting pool on when Mo pops out a kid? That date has passed.

Ha! Looks like Poppa Biner is about to get all butthurt again. In Maine, there's a state senate race, and the Republicans just release a video saying how the Dem was crazy because she plays WOW and is an idol worshiping Pagan. So naturally, to the comment thread on the newspaper FB page, I said: "The only difference between a Pagan idol worshiper and a Xian is their idol isn't a dead guy on a cross." My dad then sends me a message: "Hey, pagan lover ... Besides the self-centeredness of the entire "I don't need religion" movement (I've heard of Catholic Charities and other similar efforts and all the good work they do ... Still awaiting word from "pagan charities" or "humanist cross" about how they serve others before selves), remember you are in job search mode ... How soon we forget that nothing goes away on the web ... Just sayin" He loves stroking his 'Catholic Charities'. This may get good, but has poor timing with the upcoming 4 days in a car together...

This may get good, but has poor timing with the upcoming 4 days in a car together... oh dear... just ask him about the Catholic Charities in Africa that spread the misinformation that condoms spread aids. when you guys leaving again?
