In reply to:
Reaching a long-sought milestone, Japanese researchers have demonstrated in mice that eggs and sperm can be grown from stem cells and combined to produce healthy offspring...

. . .

The prospect of using stem cells to grow new eggs is particularly tantalizing, since women are born with a set number and don't make more once they are gone.

So wait, we might be able to use stem cells, presumably from discarded fetuses, to actually make babies?

Man, that's gonna be a really confusing press-release from Focus On The Family.

Theoretically, doesn't even need to be embryoinic cells, as even skin cells can be coaxed into becoming t-cells, then brain cells... Or, eggs.

But, now privacy and ethics comes in, as one could easily get anyone else's skin cells.

I agree that Focus on the Family will recycle an old press release.

I suggest they save this one up again and just press re-send:

Yeah, it's actually skin cells --> stem cells --> eggs --> mice.

And it's an incredible day for biology. The implications are sort of mind boggling and far reaching.
