Passing slower parties on a long rap route?

Yesterday I was stuck rappelling something horrendous like 15 pitches. We had a party in front of us that was very very slow. Even after waiting 5 minutes from when their rope was pulled, we still caught up and shared the next anchor. We were asked to slow down?? The other party had poor rope management skills. 2/3 of the way down they finally stopped to let us pass. Aside from not pegging another party with your rope, what is etiquette in passing a party on rappel?

Being polite and asking if you can pass?

If you can tolerate them, offer to double up on some of the raps, and then pass them. A party of four making double raps moves quicker than two parties making single raps. Especially if you share your exceptional rope management skills. They may share their beer.

Basically what was just said - offer to leapfrog. Speeds it up for everyone.
