Wow. A post by Pinky that is actually funny. And not racist, misogynistic, or millenarian... Weird.

This is more or less why I occasionally think Pinky might be on to something with his whole "signs of impending apocalypse" schtick. If our future hinges on those idiots, we are super fucked.

You did realize it was a joke, right? (I thought it was conservatives who couldn't recognize satire...)

Well, I keep trying to imagine somebody who hasn't made up their mind yet, and the more I think about it, the more I feel like the video is an accurate portrayal. I get that its a joke, and I laughed pretty hard at it. The best satire is always pretty close to the truth (look at how often the Onion gets quoted as fact) but the dangerous line to walk as a satirist is that it sometimes stops being funny and starts being true. Much as I love good satire, its typically pretty depressing if you think about it too much.

In fact, pinkie has been coming around a bit... Nothing major, but it is evident in his posts now that the years here have benifitted him. I doubt he would/could admit it, but he IS learning... And knowledge is key in edification, which I believe he is seeking. Morton's Demon is just strong in him, but that demon is being weakened by reality.

Funny link. And of course Petsfed is right to be depressed. Sometimes satire hits a little too close to home... Americans are not stupid. GO

Best part was at 1:40.

Satire = first link. Home = mine. Too close = one and the other are horrifyingly close to one another. And picking favorite lines is so hard with so many good ones to choose from. Yours is excellent, but I think my favorite was @ 0:52 "Wait were we even in the Vietnam War? OK good!" GO
