Wow. A post by Pinky that is actually funny.
And not racist, misogynistic, or millenarian...

Weird.

This is more or less why I occasionally think Pinky might be on to something with his whole "signs of impending apocalypse" schtick.

If our future hinges on those idiots, we are super fucked.

The main difference is that Pinky looks forward to the apocalypse.

Not necessarily "looking forward" to it...I just believe it's inevitable.

To be fair to pinkie, he actually knows what's going on. Its after that apprehension stage that he goes off the reservation. These folks never got that far. They are, in no uncertain terms, utter morons. And they are the ones that will decide the election because, as the saying goes, if you're not angry, you aren't paying attention.

Nope, but I'd tap the ex-pat canadian chick even if she was a cousin :P

I laughed the hardest at her lines.

PS happier, doc?

Yes, I believe that was the joke.

You did realize it was a joke, right?

(I thought it was conservatives who couldn't recognize satire...)

Well, I keep trying to imagine somebody who hasn't made up their mind yet, and the more I think about it, the more I feel like the video is an accurate portrayal.

I get that its a joke, and I laughed pretty hard at it. The best satire is always pretty close to the truth (look at how often the Onion gets quoted as fact) but the dangerous line to walk as a satirist is that it sometimes stops being funny and starts being true.

Much as I love good satire, its typically pretty depressing if you think about it too much.

Like Andy said years ago, in this very forum:

Yes, I know it's a joke, just as I was joking with pinkie... I know he isn't that stupid.

In fact, pinkie has been coming around a bit... Nothing major, but it is evident in his posts now that the years here have benifitted him. I doubt he would/could admit it, but he IS learning... And knowledge is key in edification, which I believe he is seeking.

Morton's Demon is just strong in him, but that demon is being weakened by reality.

Funny link.

And of course Petsfed is right to be depressed. Sometimes satire hits a little too close to home...

Americans are not stupid.

Best part was at 1:40.

That's not satire, that's the real America.

Try to keep up. Satire = first link. Home = mine. Too close = one and the other are horrifyingly close to one another.

And picking favorite lines is so hard with so many good ones to choose from. Yours is excellent, but I think my favorite was @ 0:52 "Wait were we even in the Vietnam War? OK good!"
