Looking for someone who can show me and my son around the wood.
We're n00bs, but we've taken a beginner class and also a guided trip where I lead belayed our instructor on each route.

Looking to learn more from experienced people. If you've got a kid too, that might be nice. Also, if you hate kids, I can come alone. Wink

I'll pay park fees and can drive or pay for gas + lunch or beer or whatever. Available most any weekend day. We live in SE Aurora.

Vitals:
Me = 39, 6' 2", 182lb.
Son = 13, 5'3", 95lb.

Thanks,
Wade

Anyone?

I think we may just head down there this weekend to check it out.

I'll bring our gear just in case, but we'll probably just try to find some low boulder problems and screw around to get a feel for the place.

If you're on your own this weekend and need a belay, LMK. We'll be the father and son team wandering around looking lost. Unimpressed

I've done a couple leads and a couple top-ropes there, but it's been years. So while I would not mind going at all, I am not an expert in the area.

I was once a decent intermediate+ climber, but I'm only just starting to get back in shape. Once upon a time I could lead trad to 5.9 and sport to 5.10+, and top-rope harder, but Castlewood Canyon was never one of my haunts.

I live in Highlands Ranch.

If you want to meet up that would be great.

We don't have a rope or an anchor building stuff, but we have shoes, harnesses, belay devices and the will to learn and climb.

Hardest we've both climbed is 5.9, so we're happy to do whatever.

We're in SE Aurora, near Hampden and E470.
