If anyone's interested in doing a climb or two while visiting the Bahamas, I happened upon some pretty promising manmade limestone walls. On the island of New Providence (Nassau) there's a limestone ridge that runs the length of it. This ridge is bisected by numerous roads that have been cut very deeply into the limestone leaving vertical and sometimes overhanging walls oftentimes at least 40 or 50 feet high. http://www.google.com/mapmaker?gw=55&ll=25.069905,-77.433046&spn=0.002454,0.004082&z=18&vpid=1352045330246&iwloc=2_0&editids=zQkpE-hLQDrwyOH7Ju&t=h&lyt=large_map&htll=25.06956,-77.43406

The cliffs I was referring to are located on some residential back streets with no traffic and wide, flat shoulders. I also happened to find some additional large cliffs yesterday: http://www.google.com/mapmaker?gw=55&ll=25.064273,-77.472614&spn=0.002454,0.004082&z=18&vpid=1352288243989&iwloc=2_0&editids=k_cxN402CaVn-fP4ng&t=h&lyt=large_map&htll=25.064167,-77.473628 |
