How about a company agreeing to pay comp fees, and a small daily allowance when at comps ?

Well fuck, that's more than Nathan gets.

I thought you were his sponsor? So get on with it! He needs you to pay comp fees and small daily allowance on his world travels.

Right now I am programming a stupid PID controller for the 3rd time because it won't seem to hold onto my settings. These are the things I do to sponsor his ass.

At least my knees aren't sore?

If they were, you'd be sponsored by now

Yeah, sore knees aren't fun. Still, sponsors do all the work, the star gets all the glory. "Tiz the way of the world cup champs.

If you move to Utah, I'll consider becoming an internationally sponsored climber

Well.... how do I make my dreams come true?

Depends on what those dreams are...

Do you want to be a pro/sponsored climber like me? Or do you want to be a good climber?
I was hoping you'd share the secrets of becoming a good climber with kids?

Cause I'm going to need more than small dailly allowances or unemployment checks to support my gang of munchkins.

Start a climbing-related business. You can sponsor yourself as much as you like and better still write it all off against tax as product development/market research/testing etc. Itīs considerably better paid than being a pro climber.

I'm not so sure about that....

So, Kartessa - Part of being sponsored is talking up the company that's behind you. Spill the beans already....

So the story is that the company I work for posted that they were offering "sponsorships" to staff to compete in climbing, cycling, kayaking and running... I was the only person to apply for the climbing one and the rest is ^^

Clearly you first didn't direct them to the "I'm overweight" thread you posted in when you requested that they sponsor your comp fees:-) Sly

Good call there. I like Jim Titts point up thread as well.
