A few years ago I saw a video of someone walking the famed and derelict El Camino del Rey in El Chorro, Spain. From that moment I not only wanted to walk that walk, but also to climb in that small little Hamlet of Andalucia. About 10 days ago I realized one of those dreams, if only for a couple of days. It was more than I dreamed it could be, and left a strong taste in my mouth to go back. Here is the account: A Dream Realized (if only for two days) It's a short read, and I hope you all enjoy it.

Thanks guys. Wow, pictures can't describe it (mostly because I don't have a wide lens - if I did, I could probably do a better job). The place is simply amazing. Of course, you'll need to put your bolts-next-to-cracks blinders on, but still, even if you go just for hiking it's worth it a million times over. Gotta go between Oct and Apr, though. Too hot in the summer (even though that's the busiest time)

Yeah, but that's the nature of the beast in southern Europe. They treat climbing like Americans treat the beach, or Canadians the snow; you just go out and have fun with it.
