I do this. I dont know if it is good or bad for me but it feels good and my tendons are staying strong. Does anyone have any true testament to its value? good or bad, just looking for opinions.

I don't soak my hands because it would damage skin. However, I do occasionally soak my forearms in ice water after hard training, and I think it aids the recovery. can't recall if that's been officially established.

You can't really do any harm with icing provided that it's not so cold that you get frostbite. I regularly ice my fingers with ice packs. I wrap the pack with a cloth napkin. The packs are flexible. The brand I use is called Peas and you can get them or something like them at CVS, Walgreen's, etc.

Dave Macloed, Scottish strongman and a sports scientist recommends cold water for tendon damage. The theory as i understand it is that if the body knows that only one small part is cold it floods that area with blood. This helps tendon injuries as they have naturally low blood flow but need it for healing. I would avoid soaking your hands before or after training so you don't lose too much skin.
